Speaking before the annual conference of the National Sleep Foundation in Washington, D.C., Chairman Hersman said fatigue has been a concern for the NTSB since the creation of the agency in 1967 and an issue on its Most Wanted List of Transportation Safety Improvements since the list was established in 1990.

Partially funded by ARRA, the project will reduce traffic, improve pedestrian safety, and provide bus stations that will be able to accommodate more buses from both the Ann Arbor Transportation Authority and the University.
Students request more buses on weekday and weekend routes; the university's Parking and Transportation Services department says proposed changes are dependent on state funding and raising student fees.
The popular shuttle bus driver, known by students as the “Jazz Man,” plays music from his personal collection on his shuttle bus, and shares his musical knowledge with riders.
City plans universal student bus pass pilot program; pass would be mandatory for students at Carleton University and University of Ottawa. Students at both universities voted in favor of a referendum for the bus passes.
Proposal developed by students and administrators would resolve an inequity in which Tri-C students now pay $85 a month for a standard RTA pass, while those at Cleveland State University and Case Western Reserve University are charged $25 a semester for RTA's U-Pass.
The car, which can travel about 120 miles between charges, will probably consume about 3,100 kilowatts of electricity if the car is driven about 5,600 miles per year.
Contract will begin during the Spring 2010 semester and will provide transportation for students and employees.

The Smart Ride program was modeled after Charleston, S.C.'s The Citadel, where incoming cadets are given a discount card that they can use for free rides any time, with no questions asked.
