Web Extra: Virginia Tech teams with transit to launch VT Bus Tracker

Blacksburg, Va.-based Blacksburg Transit worked with a team of students at the Virginia Tech Computer Science Department to unveil the system, which provides smartphone apps and text versions that deliver bus locations, speeds and the number of passengers on each bus.

Clemson U. expands demand-response service at night

Formerly known as the safety escort service, Tiger Transit will continue to be provided by the university Police Department's Auxiliary Student Patrol. Transportation to and from main campus destinations will be available between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.
