The $13.5 million project will replace the 30-year-old Merlo Fuel & Wash building and build a LIFT facility for TriMet's Westside operations. Project is the largest among the 29 stimulus projects agency has undertaken.

Agency will use the $2 million discretionary grant to make alternative energy technology investments that will assist in the reduction of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

The city of Gadsden will use the funds for the purchase of four 30-foot passenger vehicles, acquisition of equipment and services and the construction of two covered transfer facilities.

The Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation will utilize the funding for several capital projects, including the purchase of three 40-foot alternative-fuel buses, an automatic vehicle locator system (AVL) and communications equipment.
