As Executive Director of New Jersey Transit from 2007 to 2010, Richard Sarles opened the River LINE light rail service in southern New Jersey, and oversaw the extension of both the Newark Light Rail and Hudson Bergen Light Rail services.

General Manager John Catoe is leaving the agency after three years. His last day will be April 2.

Catoe made a statement to the board of directors at the start of Metro's Customer Service, Operations and Safety Committee meeting on Thursday.

Operator of train 902 has been a Metro employee since May 2007 and a train operator since November 2008. He is currently on paid administrative leave.

The purpose of the hearing will be to gather additional factual information for the investigation.

To include disqualification for moving violations within last three years, driver’s license revocations or suspensions and any occurrence of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Metro will use the grant to establish, equip and train five, four-person anti-terrorism teams whose activities focus on terrorism prevention.

Officials will spend the next few days finalizing the language for its policy and notifying employees that the “three strikes” disciplinary policy that had been in place is a thing of the past.
