Jim Beil, Caltrans deputy district director of Capital Outlay Programs, will begin his new post at OCTA on Aug. 16. Will be responsible for directing the delivery of highway, rail and transit capital projects.

The commission allocated the money as a result of state bond sales last month. The projects are part of the voter-approved Proposition 1B and Proposition 116 bond programs to fund transportation projects throughout the state.

Agency's board will cut an additional 8 percent if a sizable amount of state funding doesn't "materialize."

Changes include refreshed the layout of bus section, and the addition of trip planning tools, interactive maps, an events calendar and a “Share the Ride” section.

The statewide application included a $340 million request to advance 18 intercity rail projects in Southern California that would connect to high-speed rail, including six projects in Orange County totaling $152 million.
