OneRail Coalition, brings passenger and freight rail stakeholders together for the first time, to bridge the goals of expanding intercity and commuter passenger and rail options across the country.

The Cascade Gateway Project will provide border-crossing wait time and travel condition information to drivers and freight carriers, using sensors to provide pre-trip and en-route wait times on crossing the border to reduce congestion.

The agreement includes the addition of five commuter trains, while leaving open the possibility of additional trains as rail capacity is created. It will also create the ability of area companies to ship or receive products on double-stack rail cars.
