Locations of the station sweeps are not being announced in advance. All of the Metro Transit Police officers will be on high visibility patrols throughout the day.

Blue TIDE included a number of security sweeps and patrols at the Union Station Metrorail station and Metrobus boarding area outside of Union Station. Also served to remind the public to remain observant while riding Metro and report any suspicious behavior.

The Metro Transit Police anticipate conducting random bag searches under the Security Inspection Program when circumstances warrant heightened vigilance. Police will take steps to ensure that there will be no discernible pattern to these inspections.
