ARTICLE TOOLS

MV Transportation Inc. (MV) began services on May 4 for a new contract in Tucson, Ariz., to hire drivers, open a new facility and prepare the bus fleet for first day service.

The Pima County (Tucson, Ariz.) Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) awarded MV the new contract to operate its local transit services.

Under the terms of the three-year agreement, with two one-year options, MV will partner with the RTA to manage a fleet of 16 buses. MV has also proposed extensive technology to assist with real time reporting, vehicle tracking and system design. The annual revenue of this new contract is $1.5 million.

Based in Fairfield, Calif., MV is a private provider of paratransit services and a privately-owned transportation contracting firm in the U.S. The company employs more than 12,000 transit professionals and operates more than 190 paratransit, fixed-route, shuttle and Medicaid contracts in 24 states, the District of Columbia, and Canada.
