ABA trip planning tool tops 50 destinations
Online info includes resources for bus and tour operators seeking information on motorcoach parking, drop-off points and other critical information has more than doubled in the number of destination resources provided in the past few months.
The American Bus Association’s (ABA) “Operator Trip Planning” online resource for bus and tour operators seeking information on motorcoach parking, street access, drop-off points and other critical information about tourism destinations has topped 50 individual cities, regions and attractions from across North America, thanks to surging use by operators, CVBs, DMOs and state and provincial tourism offices sending their information to ABA to be included on the list and enticing operators with their “motorcoach friendly” credentials.
“The milestone of surpassing 50 separate destinations, from Toronto to Texas, and from Banff to Baltimore, is an indication that ABA is helping operators plan their group tours, and at the same time providing cities and regions from coast to coast the chance at no cost whatsoever to show operators how much bus tour groups are welcomed in their neck of the woods,” said ABA President/CEO Peter J. Pantuso, CTIS. “The success of the ‘Operator Trip Planning’ page on buses.org shows ABA uniquely connects bus and tour operators with the tourism destinations to which they travel. And it’s free to all users.”
ABA’s “Operator Trip Planning” page, located at http://www.buses.org/operatortripplanning, and easily accessed via a right-hand-side button on the buses.org home page, has more than doubled in the number of destination resources provided in the past few months. A CVB, for instance, will email a link to its motorcoach guidelines on its homepage and ABA will post it under the U.S. or Canadian categories, then by state and province, and finally by city or region. Virginia tops the number of listings for one state. In sum, 28 states and provinces (and Washington D.C.), are included.
