Trillium awarded San Diego CNG project

ARTICLE TOOLS

The Board of North County Transit District (NCTD) awarded California Trillium Company (Trillium) a contract for CNG fueling equipment and ongoing operation and maintenance services at the transit agency's bases in Oceanside and Escondido, Calif.

The contract value is estimated to be $5.8 million, including capital and 10 years of operations and maintenance at the bases. NCTD will receive the federal excise tax credits on the fuel purchases.

Trillium will supply and install compression equipment for a new fueling facility at NCTD's Oceanside, Calif. facility. The station equipment includes two 400 horsepower Ariel compressor skids packaged by Trillium's long time partner J-W Power. Combined flow from the compressors will total 3,300 standard cubic feet per minute or about 25 gallons per minute. The station equipment will also utilize Trillium's smart control system which will optimize fleet fueling and provide considerable energy savings to the fleet.

The new facility is scheduled to be completed by July 1, 2010.
