U. of Ala. shuttle drivers ask for livable wage

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Drivers for the University of Alabama's Crimson Ride shuttle currently receive $9.50 an hour, but are negotiating with their employer, First Transit, for $14 an hour through the Amalgamated Transit Union, according to The Tuscaloosa News. UA pays First Transit $55.50 per work hour. Drivers also want a contract that stipulates due process rules for termination. To read the full story, click here.
