AUSTIN, Texas — Capital Metro will launch its second bus rapid transit route on Aug. 24, replacing a University of Texas at Austin shuttle at the start of the fall semester, The Daily Texan reported.

The new MetroRapid 803 clean diesel buses will use priority lanes and are equipped with signal priority technology and offer free WiFi.

The fleet underwent a full-scale system test earlier this month, where all 15 MetroRapid 803 buses operated like a regular service day, to make sure the technology and route timing works, according to the report.
