MV Transportation has retained the Kings County Rural Transit (KART) fixed-route and paratransit contract in Hanford, Calif.

Earlier this month, the KART board of directors unanimously approved a $2.1 million, five-year contract with MV to continue as its service provider. MV’s team of 48 transit professionals will operate and manage 32 county vehicles while continuing to improve the level of service provided to the community.

MV has operated this service since 2003, and as a result the agency has achieved improved on-time performance and productivity; reduced miles between road calls; and passed every California Highway Patrol, Federal Transit Administration and Kings County audit. MV has also been very active in the local community, partnering with the agency to host an annual Stuff-A-Bus event to collect and donate food to people in need.
