ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A state program that pays Pasco County to provide rides to doctors' offices for Medicaid-eligible clients was never fully reimbursed and actually lost the paratransit program $100,000 last year, the St. Petersburg Times reports. But ending participation in the program would also remove other funding sources — up to $500,000 for other programs for the elderly and disabled — leading commissioners to decide to continue providing the Medicaid transportation service.
