Union: TTC cell phone crackdown unreasonable

TORONTO — The Amalgamated Transit Union Local 113 president tells the Toronto Sun that the Toronto Transit Commission management is firing operators for using their cell phones while they are on breaks, away from their vehicles and “where there are absolutely no public safety issues involved.”

The agency says they are just notifying employees about its rules concerning cell phone usage at work. For the full story, click here.
