SALT LAKE CITY — Disabled Rights Action Committee members said that a Utah Transit Authority proposal to increase fares for paratransit riders 60 percent by 2013 would force many users to have to choose between going to medical appointments, purchasing food or refilling prescriptions, according to Deseret News.

UTA Chief Communications and Customer Focus Officer, Andrea Packer, said that since 2008, the agency held a number of conversations with organizations representing people with disabilities about the need to increase paratransit fares. For the full story, click here.
