MARIETTA, Ga. — Cobb County commissioners approved the elimination of three Cobb Community Transit bus routes and associated paratransit lines, effective August 1, MDJonline.com reported. The cuts are part of a 10 percent across-the-board budget reduction mandated by commissioners in April to fill a $27 million budget gap for 2011 and expected to impact 463 disabled riders.

The reduction in service is projected to save the county $2.4 million, of which about $631,000 is from paratransit. For the full story, click here.
