TAPTCO releases training courses for paratransit, transit

The Transit & Paratransit Co. (TAPTCO) just completed the development of comprehensive training courses for both transit and paratransit bus operators.

The courses include 28 high-quality video-based presentations, Classroom Facilitator Guides, Behind-the Wheel Instructor Guides, Operator Study Guides and Operator Training Progress Charts. The courses are:

  • The Transit Operator Development Course.
  • The Paratransit Operator Development Course.
  • The Trainer Certification Process.

These courses ensure that the drivers are fully prepared to provide the safest most efficient service and focus on the drivers and make a real difference in their daily behaviors.

Report finds N.Y. MTA paratransit taxi program scammed

The agency agreed to implement stronger anti-fraud controls recommended by the inspector general’s office. The report doesn’t identify who carried out the fraud or quantify the cost to the MTA.

UTA outfitting 2 paratransit buses with hybrid-drive systems

The energy will be used to help power the vehicles and run the climate control systems, lights, ramps and wheelchair lift while the buses are stopped, eliminating the need for idling.
