TOPEKA, Kan. — The Topeka Metropolitan Transit Authority’s finance committee is discussing funding for smart fareboxes following the agency’s decision to buy five fewer paratransit vehicles than expected, according to The Capital-Journal.

If the board approves the measure, the boxes, which would be able to read different dollar denominations and issue various passes, could be installed on the Metro’s fixed route buses by September. For the full story, click here.
