Austin, Texas-based Capital Metro Paratransit Operator Ted Ward placed first among more than 60 participants in the paratransit van (body on chassis) competition, which includes a written test, a driving test and safety skills demonstration, at the Community Transportation Association of America’s 2013 National Roadeo competition in Albuquerque, N.M.

Ward also received the Otis Reed Jr. Driver of the Year award, given to the participant who wins their division by the greatest margin.

Ward previously placed first at the 2013 Texas State Roadeo and also first at Capital Metro’s local Roadeo in March. In 2012, Ward won third place nationally and placed second in 2011.
