DOVER, Del. — Delaware Transit Corp. is proposing a system “redesign” that calls for doubling most bus and paratransit fares over two years, expanding bus routes and implementing a new model of paratransit, The News Journal reported.

Transportation Secretary Shailen Bhatt said the current paratransit model is unsustainable and inefficient. The paratransit program, which cost $15 million to run in 2000, now costs $50 million — a 233% increase. For the full story, click here.
