SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The State Journal Register reported that the Springfield Mass Transit District (SMTD) is beginning work to make 14 bus stops more accessible to people in wheelchairs. All of the stops will be equipped with a concrete pad and a shelter.

Funding the new stops is being covered with a $336,850 grant. SMTD is planning to use the money to eventually upgrade at least 90 stops. For the full story, click here.
