BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — WBNG reported that the city of Binghamton is considering cutting funds normally issued to Catholic Charities' Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) which provides free rides to seniors.

The program offers door-to-door transportation with lift-equipped buses and is typically awarded between $10,000 and $15,000. The issue is tabled for now and will be revisited on Dec. 16.

RSVP Program Director Donna Nash told the news outlet that without the funds, the program will likely have to cut routes and seniors who live independently. For the full story, click here.
