Although she planned to retire at the end of 2015 when her current contract was set to expire, Griffith says, "the time is right because Pierce Transit is stable now. It is a good time for a new leader to move the agency forward." Board Chair Rick Talbert has indicated the Pierce Transit Board will likely launch a nationwide search for Griffith's replacement.
