ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority's governing board voted unanimously Thursday night to approve the purchase of 24 low-emission conventional buses and three hybrid-electric buses, reported MLive.

This is the first in a series of bus purchases the AAATA plans to make from Gillig LLC over the next five years, which will be used for new and expanded services as well as to replace older buses in the agency's fleet.
The board also voted to award Select Ride Inc. a three-year contract to deliver paratransit services for seniors and people with disabilities beginning May 1, 2015, for a not-to-exceed price of $10.7 million, according to the report.
