GREENSBURG, Pa. — With the Westmoreland County Transit Authority set to consolidate its paratransit system to one provider, National Express, some users are worried about the future of a Senior Shared Ride Program, TribLive reported.

The program, which provides door-to-door transportation to senior citizens 65 and older, is funded through PennDOT and allows seniors to use taxi cabs at a reduced rate.

Until now, the program divided the county between three operators, including National Express, however as of July 1 users could expect to be serviced by just the one operator once they take over the contract. For the full story, click here.
