SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — To avoid cutbacks of its dial-a-ride services, the Pioneer Valley Transit Authority’s (PVTA) board voted to switch from using federally-mandated paratransit vans to a separate van fleet, WAMC reports.
PVTA officials say using separate van fleets will improve the on-time performance for the paratransit trips with no changes in dial-a-ride service. The agency is also launching a pilot program to expand dial-a-ride services to Saturdays. For the full story, click here.
