Prior to joining MV, Gary Coles served as a GM with Veolia Transportation, where he was responsible for managing multiple divisions, including 225 vehicles, a staff of 450 and an annual budget of $35 million.
MT4D will help people with disabilities use ADA paratransit companies to get from point A to point B with minimum problems as possible.
During his tenure, Metro Transit launched light rail and streetcar service, several bus rapid transit lines, grew transit ridership by 44%, and rolled out the ORCA Card – much like TransLink’s Compass Card.
He has also served as the chief of operations planning for New York City Transit, which includes bus and subway operations.
The announcement comes after officials voted in favor of hiring a private company to provide paratransit service last November.
