With $14.3 billion in projects, New York City Transit tops this year’s list, followed closely by the Toronto Transit Commission. Three new projects in Tucson, Ariz.; Detroit and Orlando, Fla., totaling $948 million, make their debut.
The judgment means bidding and construction will move ahead as planned on the first phase of the 800-mile high-speed rail system set to connect the northern and southern parts of the state.
Major challenge is the surge of competition that has surfaced in the industry vying for a piece of the high-speed rail industry, which hasn’t materialized yet.
