A bus rapid transit (BRT) line scheduled to be built in Mississauga, Ontario, has been awarded $64 million in provincial funds toward construction.

However, the city can't start the estimated five-year construction project until the federal government commits its one-third share of the project.

The other third has been contributed by the city.

The BRT line, known as the Mississauga Transitway, will provide bus-only lanes used by GO Transit and Mississauga city buses.
