Monterey Salinas Transit District’s board of directors authorized staff to enter into exclusive negotiations with the Real Estate Division of Gannett Fleming Project Development Corp. (GFPDC) for development of the mixed-use phase of the Marina Transit Exchange in Monterey, Calif.

“It is not only important that we secure public and private funding and grants for 100 percent of the project, but also that the selected plan can integrate the non-transit components with the transit ones and create revenues for our agency,” said Carl Sedoryk, MST’s general manager and CEO.

Earlier this year, MST requested proposals for a master developer to finance, design, construct and manage the 2.3-acre, mixed-use project.
