The Orange County (Calif.) Transportation Authority (OCTA) set a record in October with 6.3 million boardings on its bus services, – the highest in the agency’s 36 year history – while its Metrolink ridership increased 11 percent compared to the same period in 2007.

“More people in Orange County are discovering the convenience and economy of riding our buses,” said Art Leahy, CEO of OCTA. “We’re excited about providing ever safer and more efficient travel options for our residents.”

OCTA bus ridership has been at six million or more since July 2008, with Metrolink ridership well over 370,000 during that same period.
