The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) will receive an additional 36 police officers to assist with traffic, safety and security on Canada’s largest transit system.

The TTC has a current complement of 103 highly-trained special officers – all of whom meet the training standards set out by the Toronto Police Services Board.

The TTC has a six-year plan that will put 176 officers in the system by 2011.
