The Regional Transportation District (RTD) officials and the City of Aurora have completed construction of Aurora’s primary transportation hub.

The transfer center, which has been more than 15 years in the making, will become a light rail station within the FasTracks Program and has been designed and integrated within a larger overall Aurora transit oriented development project.

The Centrepoint & Sable Transfer Center is a consolidated bus facility that currently intercepts nine fixed routes and one call-n-ride. The transfer center was designed to provide commuter transfer capabilities, which means that several fixed-route buses arrive at the same time, so patrons can make a safe and immediate transfer to any of the bus routes.

The transfer center began operating in late January.
