D.C. Metro problems jeopardize new transit projects

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Transportation planners have said that because the FTA considers applicants' ability to maintain their current transit systems when awarding funds for new projects, and because governments in Maryland, the District and Northern Virginia are partially responsible for funding D.C. Metro, the FTA will weigh the safety and reliability of the Metro system before granting money for new transit lines, according to The Washington Post. For the full story, click here.
