NORFOLK, Va. — Calling the spending cuts "a matter of fairness," Hampton Roads Transit President Philip A. Shucet said he is ending the practice of letting vice presidents commute using company cars and pulling the plug on health insurance policies given to some employees without requiring them to pay premiums, according to a Daily Press report. Nineteen employees, including several vice presidents, have been getting the perk. The employees who received no-premium health insurance plans will now pay the same amount as other HRT employees.
