TORONTO — Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA) of Cincinnati has selected Trapeze ITS in a contract to replace an existing Trapeze system at the agency.

The solution for SORTA includes computer-aided dispatch and automatic vehicle location (CAD/AVL) technology integrated with existing fixed route scheduling and operations management software from Trapeze Group.

In addition the system consists of an intelligent dispatch support system, real-time traveler information, private radio voice and data communication, and a fully redundant fixed site network solution.

SORTA operates 337 fixed route buses out of two garage facilities and provides transit service to the greater Cincinnati metropolitan area. SORTA secured federal funding for the Trapeze ITS system through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
