N.Y. pilot program allows vans to fill transit void

NEW YORK CITY — A year-long pilot program allowing commuter vans to pick up passengers in parts of Brooklyn and Queens was announced by Mayor Michael Bloomberg earlier this week. The program is aimed at filling a void to those areas with limited access to public transportation and where bus service cuts will take effect, a New York Times story reports.
