AECOM Technology Corp. was awarded a $14.5 million contract to provide district-wide Intelligent Transportation Systems services for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

Under the five-year contract, AECOM will provide 24/7 Intelligent Transportation Systems operations and support services for Interstates 75, 95 and 595 from the Broward County Regional Transportation Management Center in Fort Lauderdale.

AECOM is responsible for monitoring all video and data collection tools, including closed circuit television, speed sensors and related software, to coordinate incident management and report real-time traffic information to the public.

The contract follows a similar five-year contract with FDOT that concluded this year. The new contract is expected to be completed during 2015.
