Houston Metro is implementing a series of bus service changes beginning Aug. 22, designed to improve service reliability and efficiency.

The changes include adjusting trip times, adding service or eliminating trips to match ridership demand, without discontinuing an entire route.

Houston Metro is adding service on popular routes such as the 82 Westheimer-West Oaks and 86 FM 1960 to alleviate overcrowding.

Other changes include eliminating trip times on key routes due to low ridership.

Houston Metro conducts service changes three times a year — in January, May/June and August/September — to provide more efficient service.
