CHICAGO — Since the February service cuts, the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) has paid more than $1.9 million in overtime to bus drivers, which is 62 percent more than it paid for an average four-month period in 2009, according to a Chicago Sun-Times report. The transit system cut more than 1,000 workers, mostly bus drivers, and reduced bus service by 18 percent and rail service by 9 percent to balance its budget. To read the full story, click here.
