The City of Oakland, Calif.'s Community and Economic Development Agency has launched a new free shuttle service connecting residential areas to commercial districts, as well as to various transit options, including BART, Amtrak, the Alameda/Oakland ferry and AC Transit. The "B," or Broadway shuttle service, runs Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with pick-ups every 10 minutes during commute hours and every 15 minutes at other times.

The shuttle is being funded jointly by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, the City of Oakland, community benefit districts, private developers and the Water Emergency Transportation Authority (WETA), Green Growth Cascadia reports. To read the full story, click here.
