N.Y. bus drivers to face firing for cell phone offenses

[IMAGE]NYCT-bus-M15-3-door-2.jpg[/IMAGE]NEW YORK — Bus drivers talking or texting on cell phones will face tougher penalties per a new zero-tolerance policy set by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, which will to go in effect Jan. 12, according to a NYDaily News report. Under the new policy, drivers caught talking on the phone just once could face dismissal, while in the past, drivers with good records could get several violations before being fired.
