SEPTA sells retired bus to first responders for $1

PHILADELPHIA  — While Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority usually turns its old buses over to other transit agencies or scraps them, this time it sold one to Haverford Township’s Department of Emergency Services, SEPTA spokesperson Andrew Busch told Mainline Media News.
 
The township will use the bus to “rehab” firefighters at the scene of serious fires. Rehabbing means cooling and monitoring firefighters’ vital signs to prevent exhaustion and heart problems or cold-related problems in the winter. For the full story, click here.
