N.Y. MTA driver assaults up

NEW YORK CITY — With seven attacks on average every month, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority's (MTA) passenger assaults on bus drivers are up 20 percent, according to the NY Daily News.

There were 69 physical assaults in the first nine months of this year — compared with 57 during the same stretch last year, the statistics revealed. The MTA didn't offer any theories for the rise in attacks on drivers, but union chiefs partly blame management. For the full story, click here.
