Former N.Y. MTA chief speaks out

NEW YORK — Former New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority Chairman Jay H. Walder spoke for the first time after his abrupt departure, giving the agency a prognosis that was "grim and overly optimistic in equal parts," to the New York Times.

Walder announced his departure for Hong Kong days after the authority unveiled a capital plan dependent on millions of dollars in still-to-be-approved federal grants. The capital budget is still underfunded by $10 billion. For the full story, click here.
