WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority released a five-year crime report showing that crime on the transit system has decreased since 2010, but the crime rate was still higher in 2011 than at other major transit agencies, CBS Baltimore reported.

The report listed 1,898 serious crimes last year, the majority of them thefts. Last year’s figure was a decline from a six-year high of 2,270 crimes in 2010.  For the full story, click here.
