Lawmakers want guns allowed on Missouri buses, trains

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Lawmakers in Missouri are reviewing legislation that would block cities such as Kansas City and St. Louis from using local restrictions to ban concealed handguns on city buses and trains. Supporters of the bill say it will create a safer environment on public transportation by deterring criminal behavior, while critics say regular riders will forgo riding buses and trains knowing firearms may be present, according to a St. Louis Post Dispatch.
