The New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) changed its estimate of what it loses in revenue each year from bus fare evasion from $14 million to $50 million, New York Daily News reported. The agency plans to draft a citywide plan — which may include increased police enforcement — to deter fare evasion on buses.
