CHICAGO — The Chicago Sun-Times reported that Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s administration awarded a $3.5 million contract to Sumit Construction Co. to install 16 miles of bus rapid transit lanes on Jeffery Boulevard. Construction is expected to begin in September and to be completed in time for service to begin in November, with the same basic fares as regular Chicago Transit Authority bus service.
