NJ Transit boosts bus security over terrorism concern

NEWARK, N.J. — In response to terrorist attacks on transit systems in Spain, Great Britain, India, Japan and Russia, NJ Transit rolled out "BusSafe," a counterterrorism and criminal deterrence effort that’s part of a national initiative to increase the police presence on U.S. public transit bus systems, NJ.com reported.

The program consists of bus patrols and increased inspections at transit terminals, garages and high-volume boarding areas, NJ Transit officials told NJ.com. For the full story, click here.
